Ben Yedder's goal powered Monaco to another impressive victory on Sunday, as they maintained their top three position in Ligue 1.
The French striker scored the only goal of the match in the second half, and his effort proved decisive as Monaco came from behind to win 1-0 against Strasbourg at Stade Louis II.
It was a perfect performance for Monaco, who have now won five consecutive matches in all competitions and extended their lead at the top of the table to six points over Paris Saint-Germain.
Yedder's goal came just before the hour mark, after a series of counterattacks had put Monaco ahead through Benjamin Mendy's header. The match had been tight throughout, with both teams creating chances but failing to find the back of the net until the final minutes.
Despite the loss, Strasbourg showed their resilience by equalizing in the 88th minute through Maxime Lopez, but it was too little too late for them to secure a point.
Monaco will be looking to continue their winning ways when they take on Rennes next weekend, while Strasbourg will need to regroup and focus on their own fixtures in order to maintain their place in the top flight.
